Here is some of my writing, just enough of it that I can call this a business card. A longish card, granted. I have a blog on this site and write occasionally at Open Salon. I have a food-related blog called Eyeball Soup. I’m on Twitter as kirstenalex.
All of these outlets have been neglected of late, while I write for money and finish creating a new personal website that will demand my attention like a hungry bird. I’ll explain the curious logic of that another time.
I live in Melbourne where I write for radio, magazines and websites. I also work as Senior Writer for Aesop. For many years I worked as a book editor (for Penguin, Reed and Text, inhouse and freelance), which I enjoyed but decided to move away from.
I’m working on several of my own book projects, as time permits. I’m excited about being 60,000 words into a novel and wish I could stop the world and do this one amazing job for a while. (Amazing as in I’m loving it. Not sure which adjective the end result will warrant.) If you know how to stretch a twenty-four hour day to, say, fifty, please let me know.
If I haven’t tried to pitch an article to you I might, so I hope you like some of what you find here. The photographs have been supplied by the generous Peter Franc.
